service milestone and as Signs & Lines’ longest serving employee is never at a loss for a good word, or positive contribution. We asked Peter to reflect on how the sign game has changed during his career…
'I’ve seen so many changes over the 20 years I’ve been in the signwriting industry … some people say that I’m so old that I’m part of the furniture here at Signs & Lines [however, I recall that there is a piece of equipment that is older than me in the fabrication shop (only just!)].
Apart from the obvious advances in technology, which are really too many for me to note here, there is one change that I miss very much – the traditional ‘’Brushy’’.
Having seen the Brushy phased-out in such a short space of time I wonder what another 20 years of progress is going to bring us (and whether I will be around to see them!!). Robots sign writing?
Quite possibly!
Cheers
Peter"
