So why is acrylic a Signmakers friend?
There are probably many reasons us Sign professionals like acrylic so much. Let’s start with its strength (it resembles glass but is far stronger), or the fact that it’s relatively lightweight but has a high strength to weight ratio, and not forgetting that it has a great ‘’look and feel’’ with a transparency rate of 93% making it the clearest material known.
However, one of the key reasons us signies enjoy using this amazing substance so much is its ability to be shaped. As a plastic product, acrylic can be heated to form many shapes and then used to make boxes, letters, and beautiful 3D shapes for signage applications both inside and out.
