Digital Signage European Tour

29/10/2015

Just back from her recent 2 month vacation to Europe, our amazing Graphic Designer Sarah, was able to share with us some of the ways in which Europe is embracing digital signage across key cities in the region.

From Sarah's perspective, the major difference in digital signage between Europe and Australia is not the quality, but the quantity! "In Europe it appears to be everywhere, unlike here in Australia where we are slowly getting there", observes Sarah.

Interestingly the technology is being embraced by both modern environments, such as shopping centres, but also by very traditional brands such as Lindt Chocolate in the Swiss Alps.

How to catch a Wave

No, surprisingly this isn't a surf tutorial!  But we do believe this new digital sign will become iconic for travellers to Australia in the months and years to come.

If you thought that digital signage screens only came as 'flat', then take another look at this wavey sign at Darwin's International Airport. ''The Wave" is turning heads as it displays advertising above the baggage carousels, and as first impressions go, it must turn heads and make the wait for baggage far more entertaining than in years gone by.

We love it, and if you'd like one of these to WOW your customers, just give us a call - +61 8 9274 5151.

Finding a particular widget at your local hardware store can be like the proverbial needle in the haystack!

Our concept for Australia's hardware giants takes away that customer pain, saves alot of shoe leather in wasted journeys up and down the aisles, and avoids neck strain as you try to work out which shelf your widget maybe on. Your 30 minute search reduced to 5 with the help of interactive in-store digital wayfinding signage.  Now wouldn't that be a breakthrough?!  Let us tell you how....

Can interactive digital signage help organisations be more cutting-edge? This is the question we posed as we finished another interactive digital signage project, and we believe the answer is a resounding ''yes".

If you're seeking the latest and greatest in digital signage interactivity, here's our Top 3 of what's working really well out there with customers (and clients) at the moment:
  1. Pinch to Zoom functionality to help customer's interrogate information
  2. Register your Interest forms that feed customer relationship management (CRM) data
  3. Behavioural analytics that track customer buying patterns

Read more about these in downloadable Case Study below.

Sign Apprentices at Work

22/10/2015

It's always rewarding to see the younger members of the team practicing the skills they've learned at TAFE or alongside our tradesman.  This morning's tour around the factory found three of our juniors hard at work doing various sign making tasks ... and doing a really nice job.

This is a great example of Aaron using a jig for multiple lot plates so that there's less room for error with a consistent quality finish. Phil and Jack are applying frosted vinyl to doors to act as a security screen at our S&L Digital Signage offices which now look very professional and fit for purpose. Great work lads :)

Safe Work October 2015 - woof!

22/10/2015

According to the RSPCA, 39% of households in Australia own a dog. At Signs & Lines our ownership statistics aren't quite that high, but every time I ask Rod, one of our ace Signmakers, what he's got planned for the weekend, it invariably involves his wonderful dog Bandit!

And, such is the colour of our wonderful team, that if you ask Sue why it's so important that she is safe at work, it's so that she can get back in time to feed Kevin, her pig!
