Great for general car park information (eg. open and closing times), advertising (ie. what's on in town), safety messages (eg. emergency evacuation drills) and wayfinding (ie. maps to key events), car park signage is a great value-add in car park locations. Looks like there will be a few more of these popping up around the place - watch this space! Our Case Study for this recent project links here!

An oft used catch phrase - 'economies of scale' - but one that brings 'a proportionate saving in costs gained by an increased level of production'. We all see this in play everyday in the supermarket wars - with seemingly cheaper and cheaper prices being offered as supply chains get more sophisticated, the major players get larger and consequently buy in greater bulk and, of course, the new arrivals such as Aldi undercut the market. But can it apply to signage? This first crossed my radar a few decades ago in A level Economics (yes, we're going back some) when the teacher tried to explain why you would want to create multiples of an item to save costs. I remember thinking at the time that it didn't sound that sensible to have to spend more, to save more, but fast-forward to the future and I see how 'bulk buying' has some major benefits, even when it comes to signage. This recent project for South Metropolitan TAFE is a great example of where buying and making signs in bulk achieves positive financial outcomes for the client and opportunity for bulk production for us. This recent project in our workshops emphasized just how much light can influence colour - and reinforced the need to consider carefully your sign location prior to commissioning.
Even in our consistently lit workshops, the difference a day can make is significant. Check out the shots below of the same sign, same position, just on a different day! Our experienced spraypainter has used 2 pac paint for this job to get the finish you would expect on a car - pretty high quality. Colour testing is done in advance of full paint work - matched to pantone references and with client approval to ensure that everyone is happy. This situation below shows just how easy it is to misinterpret colour based on environmental factors such as weather, sunlight, time of day, artificial vs natural sunlight etc. To find out how we can deliver outstanding colour reproduction on your next project, speak to one of our sales team today on + 61 8 9274 5151 or email: [email protected]. Are you confident that your signage is going to last the distance?
One of the things Signs & Lines care passionately about is making sure that your signs look as good tomorrow as they do today. To make sure we can deliver on this promise, we regularly undertake in-house testing to make sure that our production processes are fit for purpose. With the powerful Australian climate providing some pretty intense environmental pressure on outdoor signage, we test different production processes over periods of time to ensure we can guarantee durability under reasonable external conditions. Here's some of our test prints on coreflute undergoing quality control on the back fence. Yes! We do what we say, and are confident to deliver on our promises - and have the test results to back it up. Test failures are recorded as positives as we are then able to refine the methodology to provide the most durable, cost effective solutions. Like what you see? Let's work together. Speak to Signs & Lines about your next digital print project and find out how our tests can guarantee your signage's durability. Contact Us: +61 8 9274 5151 or email [email protected] today. It was good to see these metal legs taking a new lease of life as part of our 'recycle, reuse' initiative.
Peter has restored them ready for a change of scenery in a new sign location. The Signs & LInes environmental ethos is to recycle metal as much as possible as a) it’s cost effective and b) it is doing the right thing for our planet. It's not always the easy way, but is it is the right way to recycle multi-use materials when possible. A Win:Win in anyone’s book, and after a lick of lovely blue paint these metal legs look good as new as you can see by the pics below. |
