'Models' (Yours Truly being one of them!) will have their heads, necks and arms turned into incredible pieces of artwork by some of Perth's leading tattoo and graffiti artists.
The inaugural event takes place today between 5pm and 7pm, but you can still support the event with a donation here.
A 9 News report of the event, Kathy's story, Yours Truly 'after' video and a link to the photos site follows...
"Five years ago I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Disease and underwent five months of chemotherapy.
I was lucky. I responded fantastically to treatment and was able to avoid having radiation therapy. But it was tough. The nausea was gross. Half way though treatment I started having panic attacks when attending the hospital for treatment (I am still not great with needles). And although I was incredibly blessed with the people I had supporting me, it was still hard going through something that tough without family nearby. In the end I was left feeling exhausted both physically and emotionally.
I find it devastating knowing that there are children out there battling similar circumstances and I still struggle when I think of young people having to go through chemotherapy. It is only now, five years on, that I have recovered to a point where I can make a positive contribution to help children and adolescents who are dealing with illness."
Well done, Kathy.
